Confirmation

At The Tyger, we believe faith isn’t taught it’s caught. The manner in which most of us became Christians was by looking over someone else’s shoulder, emulating some admired older Christian, taking up a way of life that was made real and accessible through the witness of someone else.

Confirmation is open to members of the TRPC Youth Group in 8th grade and above.  Each youth will be allowed to choose an adult member of our church to serve as their mentor throughout this journey.  Confirmands will meet at least monthly with their mentor; they also meet with their fellow Confirmands, Dr. Doug and Kris & Mary Ann once monthly.  Each meeting will have a stated purpose to allow the Confirmand to learn, grow and explore church history, worship, Presbyterian policy, and sacraments.

Christianity is a way of life together. We want these youth to be engaged in the process making the processes personal and experiential suggesting that confirmation doesn’t end our growth as Christians. Our youth already are Christians. Confirmation continues and strengthens Christian growth that has already begun.
